Joplin, MO (November 5, 2021) – One man has lost his life as a result of a traffic-related incident in Jasper County on Wednesday afternoon, November 3. At around 3:40 p.m., emergency crews were called to the scene of a crash on Missouri State Route 66.
Reports from authorities show that a collision between a 1979 Chevrolet Malibu and a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado occurred on Missouri Route 66 just 2-miles west of Joplin.
The driver of the Malibu, 32-year-old Darrell Shoemaker, sustained fatal injuries in the accident and was declared deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Silverado, 59-year-old Robert McDaniel, was transported to Freeman West Hospital for the treatment of moderate injuries.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
