Car Accidents in Missouri
Teens make up around 6% of all drivers in the state of Missouri. Every year, they are involved in more than 14% of all fatal collisions. Teens are not as experienced as older drivers behind the wheel. As a result, we continue to see them involved in serious accidents more often than other age groups.
Teens between the ages of 16-19 have the greatest risk of being involved in accidents compared to any other age group. In fact, drivers in this age group are more than three times as likely as drivers over the age of 20 to be involved in fatal accidents. Not only do victims lose their lives at an alarming rate, but we see tens of thousands of others left with serious injuries that require immediate medical care.
People involved in collisions are often forced to spend tens of thousands of dollars on medical treatment and vehicle repairs while going without wages from work. Even though many injured victims have to take some time off work to recover from their injuries, numerous victims are left permanently disabled and unable to return to work after.
