St Charles, MO (November 26, 2021) – One person was left with injuries as a result of a motor vehicle accident in the St Charles area on Tuesday evening, November 23. At around 4:13 p.m., authorities were called to the site of a crash on Interstate 64.
Reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol show that a collision between vehicles blocked the westbound side of Interstate 64 in the area just west of Lake St Louis Boulevard. The crash left a 2017 Kia Optima with extensive damage. A 2010 Ford F-150 was also located at the scene with damage from the crash.
The driver of the Kia, 22-year-old Austin Schmutz, sustained injuries in the accident. He was transported to SSM Health St Joseph Lake St Louis for care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
