Sugar Creek, MO (November 29, 2021) – Two people have lost their lives as a result of a motor vehicle accident in the Sugar Creek area on Saturday evening. At around 4:19 p.m., on November 26, calls for assistance came in surrounding an auto accident on Route 291.
Reports from authorities show that a 2013 Hyundai Sonata and a 2013 Toyota Prius collided on Route 291 near Cement City Road.
The driver of the Toyota, 77-year-old Jerry Cantrell, and his passenger, 77-year-old Delores Cantrell, were both fatally injured. The two victims were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Hyundai, 20-year-old Cory Stamper, sustained injuries in the crash and was rushed to Liberty Hospital for care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
