Boone County, MO – Man Seriously Injured in Truck Crash on I-70 near MM 122.8
Boone County, MO (October 19, 2021) – One man was left with serious injuries as a result of a truck crash in Boone County on Monday afternoon, October 18. The victim has been identified as a 51-year-old David O’Bryan from Boonville, Missouri.
At around 2:39 p.m., authorities were requested to provide assistance at the scene of a crash on Interstate 70.
Reports from Missouri State Highway Trooper L. A. Benke show that a 2007 Mack CT Truck, driven by O’Bryan, was being loaded with a dumpster-style unit with a boom. The boom was extended. As the Mack Truck proceeded down the westbound side of Interstate 70, it became involved in a collision near mile marker 122.8. The impact of the crash caused moderate damage to a 2019 Jeep Cherokee, driven by 78-year-old June Cook of Boonville, Missouri.
Cook was not injured in the accident. However, O’Bryan sustained injuries. O’Bryan was transported via ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia for the treatment of serious injuries. No other injuries were reported.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
