Cairo, MO (October 26, 2021) – One man was left injured following a multi-vehicle collision in Randolph County on Monday, October 25.
Just before 6:50 a.m., the Missouri State Highway Patrol received the notification that a crash took place on US Highway 63.
Reports from MSHP Trooper Durbin show that a 1996 Kenworth Dump truck began slowing on the highway just one-half of a mile north of Route K. The truck then became involved in a collision with a 2019 Hyundai Elantra. A 2015 Nissan Altima then crashed into the rear of the Hyundai.
The Hyundai and the Nissan both sustained extensive damage. The two vehicles were towed from the scene.
The driver of the Hyundai, 24-year-old Chase Harrington, sustained moderate injuries in the accident. He was transported to University Hospital for emergency medical care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
Our thoughts are with Chase Harrington at this time. We hope for his full recovery.
