Freeman, MO (October 26, 2021) – An automobile accident reported on Monday in Cass County has claimed one man’s life. The victim has since been identified as 21-year-old Shawn Espey of Louisburg, Kansas.
At around 3:35 p.m., Espey was driving a 2016 Ford F-150 on Missouri Highway 2 when his vehicle collided with a 2013 Volvo semi-truck just west of Groh Road.
Espey’s vehicle was totaled as a result of the accident. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
Espey suffered severe injuries in the accident. He was rushed to Frontier Medical Center where he passed away from his injuries.
The driver of the truck, 34-year-old Matthew Harris, was not injured in the accident.
At this time, the Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
