Jefferson Township, MO (October 28, 2021) – Two people were left injured following a motor vehicle accident on Tuesday in Cape Girardeau County, according to local law enforcement.

At around 4:50 p.m., on October 26, emergency crews were notified that a crash took place on Route C.

Reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol show that a collision between a 2015 Toyota Scion and a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado occurred at the intersection of Route C and Route CC after the driver of the Toyota failed to yield the right of way.

As a result of the crash, two people were left with injuries. 50-year-old Tonia Hendrix was transported to Saint Francis Healthcare System Southeast Missouri for the treatment of injuries.

A 17-year-old female was transported to Southeast Hospital for care.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.

Our thoughts are with Tonia Hendrix and the teen injured in this accident. We hope for their full recovery.
