Kirksville, MO (October 20, 2021) – One man was left with moderate injuries following a motor vehicle accident in Adair County on Monday evening, according to reports.
At around 5:30 p.m., authorities were called to the site of a crash on US Highway 63.
Reports from Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper Haley show that a 2002 Crane Trash Truck was traveling through the intersection of US Highway 63 and Route T. For unknown reasons, the truck suffered a mechanical failure that prevented the driver, 29-year-old David Hurley, from stopping the vehicle.
Hurley jumped from the vehicle as it traveled off the west side of the road, became airborne, struck a fence, and crashed into a tree.
Hurley suffered moderate injuries as a result of the incident. He was transported by Adair County Ambulance to Northeast Regional Medical Center for care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
Our thoughts are with David Hurley at this time. We hope for his full recovery.
