Categorized as Auto Accidents

Mountain Grove, MO (October 15, 2021) – A motor vehicle accident reported on Thursday just outside of Mountain Grove left several people injured, according to local law enforcement.

At around 6:40 a.m., on October 14, a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country, driven by 24-year-old Michaela Kahnert, was attempting to make a right turn from an outer road onto westbound Highway 60. Instead, the vehicle collided with a 2015 Toyota Corolla, driven by 65-year-old Shelia Lane.

The impact of the crash caused the Toyota to rotate before crashing into a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by 72-year-old Stephen Lewis.

Lewis, Lane, and a passenger in Lane’s vehicle, 58-year-old Sheri Barton, were all injured in the accident.

Barton and Lewis were both transported to Mercy Hospital Springfield for care. Lane was transported to Cox Medical Center in Springfield for treatment.

At this time, investigations surrounding the accident are underway.

Our thoughts are with Stephen Lewis, Sheri Barton, and Shelia Lane at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
