St. Louis, MO (October 8, 2021) – A multi-vehicle collision in the St. Louis area left two people injured on Wednesday, October 6. At around 5 p.m., authorities were notified that a crash took place on Interstate 170 that required assistance.
Reports from authorities show that a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by 30-year-old Lakeisha Buffkins, was traveling south on Interstate. The vehicle then became involved in a collision with a 2008 Acura TSX, driven by 19-year-old Adrian Smith, in the area of Interstate 270.
The impact of the crash caused Buffkins to lose control of her vehicle. The vehicle then collided with a 2018 Toyota Prius, driven by 61-year-old Donna Burgess. A 2016 Nissan Altima, driven by 22-year-old Darius Gordon, then collided with a 2018 Chevrolet Impala, driven by 30-year-old Jerrisakah Chambers.
Buffkins and Smith sustained serious injuries in the accident. Smith was transported to Barnes Jewish Hospital for care. Buffkins was transported to SSM Health Depaul Hospital.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
