Bates County, MO – Two Juveniles Injured in Crash on County Rd NE 1003 near Route D

Bates County, MO (September 24, 2021) – A 15-year-old male and a 16-year-old male were both injured as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Bates County on Thursday evening. Just after 4:30 p.m., on September 23, emergency crews were called to the scene of a crash on County road Northeast 1003.

Preliminary investigations from the Missouri State Highway Patrol show that a 16-year-old male was driving a 2017 Dodge 1500 when his vehicle became involved in an accident with a 2003 Kenworth, driven by 69-year-old Michael Kenney.

Both the 16-year-old teen and his 15-year-old passenger were treated for injuries.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
