Franklin, MO (September 24, 2021) – The Missouri State Highway Patrol has identified 57-year-old Thomas V Welch as the victim injured in a traffic-related incident on Thursday in Franklin County. Just before 7 p.m., on September 23, calls came in for assistance on-site at a crash on Missouri State Highway 47.
Reports from local authorities indicate that Welch was driving a 2012 Kia Optima southbound on Missouri State Highway 47. At the same time, a 2013 Jeep Wrangler, driven by 63-year-old David C Neuman, crossed over the center line and collided with the Kia. The impact of the crash caused the Kia to go off the right side of the roadway.
Welch sustained injuries in the accident. He was transported to Missouri Baptist Hospital Sullivan by St Clair Ambulance.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
