Jackson Co, MO (September 04, 2021) – A two-vehicle accident on US-40 in Jackson County put both drivers in the hospital on Saturday, September 4th.
Sources said that the collision occurred at about 7:55 p.m. in the westbound lanes of US-40 at the intersection of Woods Chapel Road when a 2016 Dodge Challenger traveling at a high rate of speed ran a red light and collided with a 2017 Ford Explorer, causing it to overturn.
The driver of the Dodge, a 25-year-old male from Kansas City, was taken by ambulance to Centerpoint Hospital in Independence in moderate condition.
The driver of the Ford, a 37-year-old male from Blue Springs, was also transported to Centerpoint Hospital.
Both vehicles were totaled during the collision.
