Car Accidents in Joplin
Millions of car accident victims endure serious injuries every year across the country as several thousand more lose their lives. Missouri saw 143,826 vehicle collisions in 2008 alone, generating a total of 1,326 victim fatalities.
In right-of-way accidents, there are normally opposing accounts of what happened because each driver thinks their decision was the right one. Luckily, Missouri observes comparative fault insurance laws. This means that a driver who is injured during a crash could still be eligible to receive financial compensation even if they share some of the fault.
Missouri allows liability to be assigned in a few different ways, through things such as eyewitness accounts, discovery via opposing council, and the testimony of expert witnesses. Although the state allows a five-year statute of limitations in which to file your claim, it is important to speak with a personal injury attorney as soon as possible. The longer you wait, the harder it will be to prove your version of events and obtain full and fair financial compensation.
