Kansas City, MO – One Killed in Explosion on E 9th St at AM Auto Shop

Kansas City, MO (September 27, 2021) – One person has lost their life following an industrial explosion in Kansas City, Missouri on Saturday afternoon. Just before 1 p.m., on September 25, emergency crews were notified of a serious explosion that occurred on East 9th Street.

Reports from local authorities indicate that a person was welding in the bed of a flatbed pickup truck at the AM Auto Shop located in the 3800 block of East 9th Street during the early afternoon hours. For unknown reasons, an explosion occurred at the facility.

The person suffered fatal injuries in the accident and was immediately declared deceased.
