Wrongful Deaths in Pleasant Hope

A wrongful death happens when a person dies due to someone else’s negligence. This includes families who have lost someone they love in cases like car accidents, tractor-trailer accidents, motorcycle accidents, dangerous drugs, and defective products.

Wrongful death claims are designed to give families financial compensation for the losses they have endured due to the death of a loved one. Deaths caused by negligence are heartbreaking, but family members may still be able to recover compensation.

Unlike a criminal trial, a claim of wrongful death is a civil action that helps victim’s families by recompensing them for the economic and non-economic damages they incurred due to the wrongful death.

In almost all states, members of the victim’s immediate family are the only ones eligible to file this kind of claim. In some states, however, this entitlement is extended to grandparents and other members of the decedent’s extended family.

Wrongful death cases can be complex because the negligence that directly contributed to the death of your loved one must be proven. Wrongful deaths are tragic, overwhelming events. Far too often, families are so overtaken by their grief they are unable to handle a wrongful death claim adequately or appropriately.
