St. Joseph, MO (September 12, 2021) – Authorities say that a total of three people were left injured after a serious car crash on Friday, September 10th. The vehicle involved crashed into an International House of Pancakes located on North Belt Parkway in the town of St. Joseph.
Reports show that police officers were dispatched to the scene at about 11:45 p.m. after being notified that a vehicle had been observed striking a curb and a light pole at the intersection of Cook Road and North Belt Highway. The vehicle then crashed into the occupied building.
The three victims were all people inside the IHOP at the time of the accident. Whether they were employees or customers was not made clear.
The driver of the vehicle was unharmed during the impact.
Although the cause of the collision has not been determined, police did say that alcohol was not a factor, but a citation was issued.
No further information was available.
