Moreland Township, MO (April 8, 2022) – A motor vehicle wreck in Scott County left three people injured. At around 12:50 p.m., on April 7, emergency crews were dispatched to the scene of an auto accident on Interstate 55.
Reports provided by authorities show that a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country and a 2012 Ford Taurus collided on the northbound side of Interstate 55. The incident caused delays near mile marker 81.8 as crews worked to clear the scene. Both vehicles were totaled as a result of the crash and had to be towed from the scene.
Three people involved in the accident were injured. All three victims, identified as 75-year-old Oliver Oneal, 46-year-old Chastity Chapman, and 29-year-old Julia Swartout, were transported by ambulance to St Francis in Cape Girardeau for care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
