Cape Girardeau, MO (April 1, 2022) – A motor vehicle accident reported in the Cape Girardeau area left two teens injured on Wednesday evening, March 30. At around 6 p.m., the Missouri State Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene of an accident on Perryville Road.
Reports provided by authorities show that a 2002 Mercy Grand Marquis was involved in an accident on Perryville Road just one mile north of Cape Girardeau. The impact of the crash sent the vehicle off the left side of the roadway, where it crashed into a water-filled ditch.
The 17-year-old female driver of the vehicle suffered serious injuries in the accident. The victim and her passenger, a 16-year-old male, were both transported to St Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau for care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
