Cuba, MO (April 20, 2022) – Two people were injured as a result of an auto accident just south of Cuba on Monday evening, April 18. Just after 5:45 p.m., the Missouri State Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene of an auto accident on Highway 19.
Reports provided by authorities show that a 2003 Ford Explorer and a 2012 Nissan Sentra were involved in a collision on Highway 19 just one mile south of Cuba. The Ford was slowing for traffic when the Nissan crashed into the rear of the vehicle.
The incident left both vehicles with extensive damage, requiring them to be towed from the scene.
The drivers of both vehicles were injured. A 17-year-old female was treated at the scene for injuries. The driver of the Nissan, 60-year-old Rhonda Cook, was transported by ambulance to Missouri Baptist Hospital.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
