Portageville, MO (April 9, 2022) – An auto accident reported in the Portageville area left two people injured. At around 8:30 a.m., on April 8, emergency crews were requested on-site at a crash on Interstate 55.
Reports provided by the Missouri State Highway Patrol show that a collision between a 2009 GMC 2500 and a 1996 Peterbilt dump truck occurred on the northbound side of Interstate 55 near mile marker 27. The impact of the crash caused the Peterbilt to crash into a 1997 International dump truck.
Two people in the GMC were injured. EMS transported 78-year-old Shirley Runke and 80-year-old George Runke to Pemiscot Memorial for care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
