St Louis, MO (April 9, 2022) – A man and woman have lost their lives as a result of a motor vehicle accident in the St Louis area, according to local law enforcement. At around 1:05 a.m., on April 9, calls for assistance came in surrounding a crash on Interstate 70.
Reports provided by authorities show that a 2016 Ford Escape was traveling on Interstate 70 when it became involved in a crash with a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado just west of St Charles Rock Road.
The impact of the crash caused the Silverado and a 2004 Chevrolet Impala to collide.
The driver of the Ford, 28-year-old Laci Meyer, and the driver of the Silverado, 63-year-old Rodney Sharp, were both fatally injured in the accident. Both victims were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Impala, 36-year-old Chauntay Carey, was rushed to SSM Health DePaul Hospital with serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
