Union Township, MO (April 1, 2022) – A motor vehicle accident reported in Franklin County has claimed one teen’s life. At around 9:30 p.m., on March 30, emergency crews were dispatched to the scene of an accident on US Highway 50.
Reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol show that a 2009 Chevrolet Impala and a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee collision occurred on the westbound side of US Highway 50 in the area near St Jordans Road. The impact of the crash left both vehicles with significant damage.
The driver of the Chevrolet, a 17-year-old male from Union, Missouri, suffered fatal injuries in the accident and was pronounced deceased on-site.
The driver of the Jeep was seriously injured. EMS transported the victim, 59-year-old Vickie Dement, to Mercy Hospital in St Louis for emergency medical care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
