Wheaton Township, MO (April 6, 2022) – An auto accident reported just east of Rocky Comfort claimed one man’s life. At around 9:25 p.m., on April 4, the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of an auto accident on Missouri State Route 76.
Reports provided by authorities show that a 1994 Ford Escort was traveling on Missouri State Route 76 when the vehicle struck a bicyclist just one mile east of Rocky Comfort.
The bicyclist, identified as 50-year-old Charles Peterson, sustained fatal injuries in the accident. Peterson was pronounced deceased at the scene.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
