Springfield, MO – Donald Gotter & Kathy Gotter Transported to Cox Medical following Multi-Vehicle Wreck on I-44

Springfield, MO (August 5, 2022) – A man and woman were both transported to area hospitals following a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Wednesday morning in Greene County. At around 8:37 a.m., on August 3, the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a crash on Interstate 44.

Preliminary investigations indicate that a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling on Interstate 44, when the vehicle began to slow down for a Missouri Department of transportation vehicle that was stopped on a bridge just 5 miles west of Springfield, Missouri. A 2021 Toyota tundra attempted to avoid striking the Chevrolet. As a result, the vehicle went around and struck a 2014 Ford F-150 pickup truck.

A 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck then struck the 2014 Ford F-150 pickup truck. The impact of the crash pushed the Ford into the Chevrolet.

Two people inside the Ford, 75-year-old Kathy Gotter and 77-year-old Donald Gotter, were both injured in the accident. The two victims were transported by ambulance to Cox Medical Center South for emergency treatment.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
