St. Charles, MO (August 2, 2022) – A vehicle crash reported in St. Charles County just outside of Lake St. Louis sent two people to area hospitals with serious injuries. At around 8:12 p.m., on August 1, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was dispatched to a crash that occurred on Interstate 64.
Preliminary investigations show that a 2014 Mazda three, a 2014 Dodge Ram pickup truck, and a 2012 Toyota Camry were all slowing down while traveling on the westbound side of Interstate 64 due to traffic congestion just west of Lake St. Louis.
For unknown reasons, a 2007 Ford Mustang crashed into the rear of the Mazda. The impact of the crash caused the Mazda to crash into the Dodge. The impact of that crash caused the dogs to crash into the rear of the Toyota.
EMS responded to the scene and rendered aid to 28-year-old Shannon Miller and 56-year-old Kelly Perkins. Miller, who is from Flintville, Tennessee, and Perkins, who is from St. Louis, Missouri, or both transported by St. Charles County ambulance District to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for emergency medical care.
