Car Accidents in Missouri
Accidents take place frequently in the state of Missouri that result in devastating injuries for those involved. Regrettably, intersections are some of the most dangerous locations in our state to travel. Year after year, thousands of people are harmed as a result of accidents that take place at busy intersections across Missouri.
The most common cause of accidents at intersections is failing to yield the right of way. This can happen when a driver is turning left and doesn’t see oncoming traffic or when a driver is trying to beat a yellow light and doesn’t see that there’s another car in the intersection.
Other common causes of accidents at intersections include distracted driving (texting, talking on the phone, etc.), following too closely, running red lights or stop signs, and making improper turns. In some cases, weather conditions can also contribute to accidents, such as if it’s raining or snowing and visibility is reduced.
To avoid accidents at intersections, it’s important to always be aware of your surroundings and to yield the right of way when necessary. If you have been injured as a result of a motor vehicle accident, you may have legal options available.
A Missouri car accident lawyer can help you determine whether you have a valid claim and how much your claim is worth. If you have been seriously injured, you may be entitled to compensation for medical expenses, repairs for your vehicle, and more.
The statute of limitations for filing a personal injury claim in Missouri is five years from the date of the accident. This means that if you do not file a claim within five years, you will be unable to recover damages for your injuries. Therefore, it is important to contact a Missouri car accident lawyer as soon as possible after the accident.
