Car Accidents in Missouri
Auto accidents are an unfortunate and regular occurrence here in the state of Missouri. Each year, thousands of people are hospitalized with severe injuries following crashes that take place on our state’s roadways.
People who are involved in accidents often have to go through medical treatment for the injuries they suffered. We see many people hospitalized with traumatic brain injuries, internal organ injuries, and even broken bones. Following an accident, you may be able to pursue legal action against the person who is responsible. In order to prevail, you must be able to prove that the accident was a result of another driver’s negligence. Some common factors in vehicle collisions across our state include:
- Distracted driving: Taking your eyes off the road, even for a second, can lead to disaster. Texting, talking on the phone, eating, drinking, and anything else that takes your attention away from the road ahead can have severe consequences for yourself and others.
- Drunk driving: Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is never a good idea. Not only is it illegal in all 50 states, but it’s also incredibly dangerous. Regrettably, we see many people harmed as a result of drivers who are drunk or under the influence of drugs.
- Speeding: Going too fast for weather and road conditions or speeding through traffic can increase your chances of getting into an accident that results in serious injuries.
These and other acts of negligence are grounds for a successful personal injury lawsuit. Providing a police report, witness statements, and other evidence to prove that these actions led to the accident taking place can help you recover compensation for your damages. If you have suffered debilitating injuries due to a vehicle collision, it is important to seek out experienced legal help as soon as possible. An attorney will be able to fight for fair compensation to cover the cost of medical expenses and more.
