Fatal Car Accidents in Missouri

Diggins, MO – Child Fatally Injured in Vehicle Wreck on US-60Each year, fatal car crashes take the lives of thousands of innocent people. There are many instances where negligent actors cause fatal injuries to those sharing the road. There are many reasons why these accidents take place year after year. Some of the leading factors include:

  • Driver distractions: It is important that drivers remain focused on the road ahead. Regrettably, we see many accidents occur as a result of drivers who are texting, eating, or distracted by other means while operating their vehicles.
  • Speeding: Slower speeds give you more time to react to hazards. However, we continue to see many people exceed the posted speed limits and cause severe and fatal accidents every single day in our state.
  • Impairment: Intoxicated driving is extremely illegal in the state of Missouri. Unfortunately, innocent people continue to die every day as a result of drivers who are drunk or impaired while behind the wheel. Not only is drunk driving a cause of many deaths in fatal car crashes in our state, but it is the cause of nearly one-quarter of all fatal crashes in the United States annually.
  • Poor road conditions: Hazards on roadways can cause severe and fatal accidents. We see many people lose control of their vehicles over potholes, ice, or other hazards in the road.
