Car Accidents in Missouri
Crashes frequently take place at intersections in the state of Missouri. Many of these accidents result in severe injuries for those involved. Unfortunately, acts of negligence often contribute to these accidents taking place.
One of the most common causes of crashes at intersections is failure to yield the right-of-way. This can occur when a driver tries to make a left turn in front of oncoming traffic or when two vehicles arrive at a four-way stop simultaneously and neither driver yields. Other common causes of intersection crashes include running red lights or stop signs, making improper turns, and misjudging the speed or distance of oncoming traffic.
Intersection crashes are often caused by drivers who are distracted, speeding, or impaired by alcohol or drugs. Drivers who are not paying attention to their surroundings are more likely to run red lights or fail to yield the right-of-way. Speeding increases the chances of crashing because it reduces the amount of time a driver has to react to changing conditions. Alcohol and drugs can impair a driver’s judgment, coordination, and reaction time, making it more difficult to safely navigate an intersection.
Regrettably, these and other acts of negligence continue to cause severe injuries and auto collisions across our state. If you’ve been hurt as a result of a motor vehicle accident caused by a negligent or careless driver, you may be able to seek financial compensation from them for the damages that you face. A Fidelity car accident lawyer can help you seek the maximum amount of compensation possible for your lawsuit.
