Franklin, MO (December 9, 2022) – A traffic accident took place on Wednesday evening that left two people injured in Franklin County. At around 6:40 p.m., on December 7, the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a crash on Missouri State Route 47.
According to law enforcement, a 2011 Toyota Camry began to slow down to make a left turn on Missouri State Route 47 at the intersection of Forest Hill Drive. The driver of a 2012 Dodge grand Caravan was traveling too closely, causing the vehicle to crash into the rear of the Toyota. A 2006 Saturn Vue then began skidding down the roadway and crashed into the rear of the Dodge. All three vehicles were totaled in the crash.
Two people suffered significant injuries as a result of this traffic collision. Union ambulance responded to the scene and provided care to 51-year-old Penny Ryland and 53-year-old Lori Parker. The victims were then transported to Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri, for further care.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is actively investigating the crash.
We hope Penny Ryland and Lori Parker recover quickly.
Car Accidents in Missouri
It is nearly impossible to prepare for the impact that a motor vehicle crash will have on your life. Victims are often left with severe physical and emotional injuries. Covering the financial consequences of the cross can be challenging. This is especially true when victims are unable to work for several weeks or months following their accidents.
Unfortunately, we see countless people harmed every day in our state as a result of drivers who are negligent. We often see people suffer debilitating injuries in rear-end crashes caused by drivers who follow too closely.
When drivers of vehicles follow too closely to the vehicles ahead of them, they simply do not have enough time to react in the event that the vehicle ahead slows down or comes to a stop. This can lead to a rear-end collision, which can be very dangerous.
- If you are involved in a rear-end accident, there are a few things you can do to help prove that it was not your fault:
- If possible, take pictures of the accident scene. This can help show what happened and who was at fault.
- Get the contact information for any witnesses who saw the accident occur. Their testimony can help prove that you were not at fault and help you recover financial compensation.
- Talk to your insurance company about the car crash. They may be able to help you prove that you were not at fault and get your damages covered.
If you’ve been hurt as a result of a rear-end accident, you may be able to seek financial compensation from the responsible party. A Franklin car accident lawyer can help you protect your legal rights and get justice.
