Matthews, MO – Wayne Prince Fatally Injured in Auto Wreck on US-61 near Route H

Matthews, MO (December 11, 2022) – A traffic wreck took place in the new Madrid County that claimed the life of 91-year-old Wayne Prince of Marston, Missouri. The crash was reported at around 12:30 p.m. on December 10.

According to law enforcement, a 2017 Jeep liberty pulled into the path of a 1997 Lincoln Town Car on US Highway 61 at Route H. As a result, the vehicles collided. Both vehicles were significantly damaged in the accident.

The driver of the Lincoln, identified as Prince, was severely harmed in the accident. Prince was provided transportation by ambulance to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri, where he died from his injuries.

The driver of the Jeep, 32-year-old Benjamin Shaw of Matthews, Missouri, was treated for minor injuries at the same hospital.

The incident remains under investigation.
