Osceola Township, MO (December 3, 2022) – The Missouri State Highway Patrol has confirmed that 54-year-old Drew Fairchild of Camdenton, Missouri, has died as a result of a traffic accident in Camden County. The crash was reported just before 7:30 p.m., on December 2.
According to law enforcement, a 2009 Volkswagen GTI swerved to the right to avoid striking a 2008 Yamaha MC while traveling northbound on Missouri State Route 5 on the Niangua Bridge. The two vehicles collided, causing the Volkswagen to strike a 2010 Cadillac CTS. The impact of the crash sent the Cadillac over the center of the roadway, where it was then struck by the Yamaha. The Volkswagen then struck a concrete barrier.
The driver of the Yamaha, identified as Fairchild, was fatally injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other people were severely injured. The victims were identified as 32-year-old Miles Aldrich, 55-year-old Donna Hunt, and 55-year-old Craig Hunt. Both Craig and Donna Hunt were transported to University Hospital by Mercy Ambulance for emergency care.
The crash remains under investigation.
We hope Donna Hunt, Craig Hunt, and Miles Aldrich recover quickly.
Our sympathies are with the family of Drew Fairchild at this time.
