Regrettably, tens of thousands of people in our state are left to deal with significant injuries following accidents every year. There are many cases where people are harmed as a result of rear-end accidents.

There are several reasons why this type of accident takes place so often. Some of the leading factors in rear-end collisions include:

  • Distracted driving: This has become one of the leading causes of car accidents in recent years with the increase in the use of cell phones and other electronic devices while behind the wheel.
  • Speeding: Going too fast for conditions is a recipe for disaster and often leads to rear-end collisions.
  • Following too closely: Another leading cause of rear-end accidents is following another vehicle too closely. This leaves little room for error and often results in an accident when the lead vehicle slows down or stops unexpectedly.
  • Driving under the influence: Drugs and alcohol impairment continue to be a leading cause of car accidents and this includes rear-end collisions.
