Car Accidents in Missouri
Car accidents continue to be one of the leading causes of injuries and deaths in the state of Missouri. Each year, tens of thousands of people are transported to local hospitals for the treatment of injuries as a result of automobile collisions. There are many cases where people suffer severe injuries as a result of driver negligence.
The leading cause of vehicle accidents in our state continues to be distracted driving. Drivers who take their attention off the road, even for a split second, can cause severe accidents that result in injuries. We see countless people harmed as a result of accidents caused by drivers who are talking or texting on their phones, eating, or talking to people in their vehicles.
Other common causes of crashes that we see in our state include:
- Speeding: Driving over the speed limit or driving too fast for road conditions is one of the most common causes of car accidents.
- Driving under the influence: Driving while intoxicated by drugs or alcohol is extremely dangerous and contributes to a significant number of auto accidents each year.
- Reckless driving: Things like tailgating, making unsafe lane changes, and running red lights can all lead to serious vehicle accidents.
- Road rage: When drivers lose their temper while behind the wheel, it can lead to them cutting off other vehicles or engaging in aggressive behaviors. This can lead to a serious accident.
