Car Accidents in Missouri
Auto crashes take place every day in our state that have a devastating impact on the lives of those involved. Regrettably, we see thousands of people hospitalized every single month with severe injuries that require medical care. There are many cases where people are hurt as a result of crashes caused by negligence.
One of the most common causes of car crashes is distracted driving. This can include anything from talking or texting on your phone to fiddling with the radio or looking at something outside of the car. It’s important to keep your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel at all times to avoid an accident.
Speeding continues to be one of the main causes of crashes across our state. Going even a few miles over the speed limit can increase your chances of getting into an accident, so it’s always best to obey the posted speed limits. In addition to speeding, aggressive driving behaviors like tailgating, weaving in and out of traffic, and running red lights can also lead to accidents.
Poor road conditions are another factor that can contribute to car crashes. If there is heavy rain or snowfall, it’s important to slow down and drive cautiously as roads can be slick and dangerous. Other hazards like potholes, ice, and debris can also cause problems for drivers.
