Mountain View, MO (February 12, 2022) – An auto accident in Shannon County ended in injuries, according to local authorities. Just before 3 p.m., on February 11, emergency crews were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash on US Highway 60.
Reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol show that a 2011 Ford Fusion was totaled after being involved in a crash with a 2002 Dodge Ram on US Highway 60 just two miles east of Mountain View.
A total of five people were hurt in this crash. EMS rendered aid to a 2-year-old female on-site. A 4-year-old female was transported to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains for care.
Air Ambulance flew 22-year-old Caleb Green to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for the treatment of serious injuries.
A 23-year-old female, Sierra Green, was transported by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains. The fifth victim, 64-year-old Kimberly Smeltzer, was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Mountain View.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
