Reports from authorities show that a 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 was stopped on the side of Interstate 55 near mile marker 44 while 54-year-old Patrick Keil was conducting maintenance on the vehicle’s towed unit.
For unknown reasons, a 2018 GMC Sierra passing through the area struck Keil.
Keil sustained serious injuries in the accident. He was flown by Air Medical to Regional One Health Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee.

Our thoughts are with Patrick Keil at this time. We hope for his full recovery.
