Fredericktown, MO (January 18, 2022) – A motor vehicle collision in Madison County ended in injuries. At around 12:45 p.m., on January 17, emergency crews were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash on County Road 417.

Reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol show that a 2014 GMC Terrain was involved in an accident on County Road 417 just three miles south of Cherokee Pass. The GMC went off the roadway and crashed into a bridge structure.

A passenger in the vehicle, 18-year-old Blake Hohman, was injured in the crash. Hohman was transported to Madison Medical Center for care.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.

Our thoughts are with Blake Hohman at this time. We hope for his full recovery.

Car Accidents in Missouri

Reports provided by the Missouri Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration show that the state of Missouri ranks 19th out of all 50 states for the likelihood of people being involved in fatal collisions. Between 2012 and 2014, more than 2,300 people lost their lives in accidents throughout the state. Thousands more are left with life-altering injuries that require extensive medical treatment.

Not being able to work while being overwhelmed with tens of thousands of dollars in medical bills not only impacts victims but their families as well. It does not seem right that victims who are injured in accidents as a result of the actions of others are forced to spend substantial amounts of money on treatment.

When victims are injured in accidents resulting from the negligence of other motorists, it is important that they seek legal guidance as soon as possible. Victims may be entitled to compensation that can help cover the costs of care and other expenses moving forward.
