Hallsville, MO – Four Killed, Including Child, in Two-Vehicle Collision on US-63 near Lake Rd

Hallsville, MO (January) – A wrong-way crash reported in Boone County claimed the lives of several people, including a 10-year-old child. At around 7:30 p.m., on January 3, the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a crash on US Highway 63.

Reports from MSHP show that 19-year-old Keith Sumner was driving a 2017 Hyundai Elantra south in the northbound lanes of US Highway 63 when he crashed into a 2004 Ford Escape just north of Lake Road.

The impact of the crash caused two people to be ejected from the Ford.

Sumner, 29-year-old Jessica McKinlay, 34-year-old Christopher McClain, and a 10-year-old female were all pronounced deceased at the scene.

Three other children, identified as a 6-year-old boy, a 3-year-old female, and a 2-year-old female, were all transported to University Hospital for care.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
