Kansas City, MO (January 10, 2022) – Three people were transported to area hospitals with injuries following a motor vehicle accident in the Kansas City area on Sunday morning, January 9. At around 1:42 a.m., authorities were notified that a crash took place on Interstate 29 that required assistance.
Reports provided by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper M Gallo Mejia show that a 2002 Chevrolet was traveling the wrong way on the Interstate when it crashed head-on into a 2007 Hyundai near Tiffany Springs Parkway. A 2019 International then collided with the Hyundai.
Three people involved in the crash were injured. The victims, 20-year-old Elise Edwards, 21-year-old Jason Baird, and 23-year-old Makayla Rikli, were all transported to North Kansas City Hospital for care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
