Newburg, MO (January 7, 2022) – Authorities in Phelps County responded to the scene of an accident that left one man injured. At around 9:50 a.m., on January 6, emergency crews were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash on Interstate 44.
Reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol show that a collision between a 2010 Toyota Corolla and a 2015 Volvo Complete took place on the westbound side of Interstate 44 near mile marker 172.8.
The driver of the Volvo sustained injuries in the accident. EMS transported 48-year-old Christian Thompson to Phelps Health Hospital for further care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
