St Louis, MO (January 6, 2022) – One woman was left with serious injuries following a motor vehicle accident in the St Louis area. At around 2 p.m., on January 5, emergency crews were notified that a collision occurred on Interstate 44.
Reports show that a Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling in the westbound lanes of Interstate 44. As the vehicle attempted to change lanes near mile marker 271.4, it struck a 2010 Nissan Versa. The impact of the crash caused the Nissan to strike a guardrail and collide with a 2021 Volvo VNL760.
The driver of the Nissan, 54-year-old Rhonda Wayland, suffered serious injuries in the accident. She was transported to Mercy St Louis Hospital for care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
Our thoughts are with Rhonda Wayland at this time. We hope for her full recovery.
