Bertrand, MO (July 25, 2022) – One man suffered fatal injuries following a motor vehicle accident involving a semi-truck in Mississippi County on Saturday morning. Just before 8:30 a.m., on July 23, officers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol were dispatched to a crash that occurred on Interstate 57.
Reports provided by trooper DL McKnight show that a 2016 Kenilworth 310 and a 1999 Volvo collided on the northbound side of Interstate 57 near mile marker four. The crash left both vehicles totaled, requiring them to be towed from the scene.
Three people involved in the crash were injured. EMS transported 36-year-old Alexander Nikolaev to Missouri Delta in Sikeston, Missouri, for the treatment of injuries. A second victim, 31-year-old Dwons Jean, was transported by air EVAC to St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri, for emergency treatment of serious injuries.
The third victim, 35-year-old Renel Remissainthe, was fatally injured in the crash. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by Mississippi County coroner Terry Parker.
The crash is under investigation at this time by Troop E of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
