Centerville, MO (July 20, 2022) – One man was transported by Air Evac helicopter to a local hospital for the treatment of serious injuries following a motor vehicle accident in Reynolds County. At around 6:25 p.m., on July 18, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was notified that a motor vehicle accident took place on Missouri State Route 21 that required assistance.
Investigations surrounding the accident show that a 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck and a 1997 Chevrolet 3500 collided on Missouri State Route 21, just 2 miles north of Centerville, Missouri. Both vehicles were total due to the crash.
Three people involved in the accident were provided care at the scene. The victims were identified as 44-year-old Steven Sutton, 47-year-old Robert Orzel, and 50-year-old Russ Pilkington.
Pilkington and Sutton were both transported to Iron County Memorial Hospital for the treatment of injuries. Orzel was airlifted by an Air Evac helicopter and flown to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for emergency treatment of serious injuries.
The crash is under investigation at this time.
