Gibson, MO – Crash Injures Three on MO-53 near Main St

Gibson, MO (July 19, 2022) – A motor vehicle accident reported just north of Main Street in the town of Gibson sent three people to area hospitals with injuries. At around 2:05 p.m., on July 18, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was notified that a motor vehicle collision occurred on Missouri State Route 53.

Reports from authorities show that a 2016 Ford focus crashed into the rear of a 2021 Jeep Cherokee on Missouri State Route 53 just north of Main Street in the Gibson area. Officials from Dunklin County responded to the scene to provide assistance. Both vehicles were towed from the scene of the accident due to the damages they suffered.

30 people involved in the accident were injured. Medics provided care to 51-year-old Tabatha Moss and 49-year-old Kristy Schubert. A 15-year-old male also suffered injuries in the accident and was treated by medical personnel. All three victims were then transported to Poplar Bluff Medical Center for further treatment and evaluation.

The crash is under investigation at this time.
