Goodman, MO (July 16, 2022) – A crash took place just outside of Goodman in McDonald County that left one man with serious injuries. Just after 9 a.m., on July 15, the calls for assistance came in surrounding a crash that occurred on Missouri State Route 59.
Investigations of the accident show that a 2016 Buick Enclave was traveling on Missouri State Route 59 when it crashed into the rear of a 1971 Ford F100. The impact of the crash caused the Ford to go off the roadway and overturn.
The driver of the Ford, 79-year-old William McElley, was injured in the crash. An ambulance transported McElley to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, where he underwent treatment for serious injuries.
Investigations to determine why this collision occurred are underway.
Our thoughts are with William McElley and his family at this time as we hope for his full and timely recovery.
Car Accidents in Missouri
Thousands of automobile accidents take place in Missouri every single month. In many cases, these accidents result in people involved suffering significant injuries. Many people have to go through emergency surgery. Depending on what types of injuries victims endure, they may have to go through months of therapy, and rehabilitation, and depend on medical devices and medication indefinitely.
When victims are hurt in automobile accidents due to the negligence of others, they are often rushed by the insurance companies and offered settlements to cover the cost of medical care. These offers are never enough to cover the costs victims endure from their accidents. Accepting a settlement offer can also jeopardize your chances of getting justice. Instead of communicating with the insurance company, you must reach out to a car accident lawyer in Goodman right away.
It is important that victims know that there is no strict timeline for a personal injury claim to take place. In some cases, claims are settled within months. However, more complex claims can take years to come to a settlement agreement or a verdict.
