St Charles, MO (July 2, 2022) – Authorities were dispatched to the site of a motor vehicle accident in the St Charles area that left one man injured. At around 9:15 a.m., on June 30, emergency crews were notified that an auto accident took place on Interstate 70.
Reports from local authorities show that a 2009 Chevrolet Impala and a 2019 Freightliner TTL collided on the eastbound side of Interstate 70. The incident caused moderate delays in the area of Zumbehl Road. Missouri State Highway Patrol closed off a portion of the roadway as they worked to clear the scene.
One person involved in the crash was injured. EMS rendered aid to 21-year-old Orion Smith at the scene. Smith was then transported by St Charles County EMS to SSM Health St Joseph Hospital East for further care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
