St Charles, MO (July 22, 2022) – A crash reported in St. Charles left multiple people injured. At around 9:25 a.m., on July 21, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was notified that a multivehicle collision on Interstate 70 required assistance.
Investigations show that the driver of a 2014 Kia Sorrento failed to keep a proper lookout while traveling through the area of eastbound Interstate 70, just west of Missouri State Route 370. As a result, the vehicle failed to slow down in time after a 2013 GMC Sierra 3500, and a 2015 Hyundai Sonata slowed in front of it. Coincidently, the Kiara crashed into the rear of the Hyundai. The impact of the crash caused the Hyundai to strike the rear of the GMC.
The crash blocked multiple lanes of the eastbound side of the interstate. A total of six people involved in the accident were injured. EMS rendered aid to 40-year-old Starla Lee, 28-year-old Brooke Reed, three juvenile females, ages 9, 16, and 17, and a 2-year-old juvenile male.
All six of the people who were injured due to this motor vehicle crash were transported to SSM Health Depaul Hospital for medical treatment of injuries.
The crash is under investigation at this time by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
